to the fireworks factory in Pescara
Unsafe conditions, workers
who risk their lives, as well as firefighters.
In the last few years there has been
much talk about deaths of workers trapped in fires that broke out in factories. Six years after the fire
in Turin, the families of the seven workers
who died are still waiting for the
decision of the Supreme Court
ROME - It 's seven dead and three badly
burned - all Chinese nationals - the
provisional balance of the fire that broke out this morning in
a textile factory in Prato, in
the area of Macrolotto. The burnt are a young woman,
in less serious conditions, and two adults on the
other hand are in intensive care.
A tragedy that is similar to the one of
the fire in 2007 that
killed seven workers at ThyssenKrupp.
The fire at ThyssenKrupp. In the night
between 5th and 6th December 2007, shortly after one in the
morning , on line 5 of the steel in Turin, seven workers were hit by a spill of
hot oil , which caught fire. Colleagues called the fire brigade , ambulances
arrived at 1 .15 and the wounded were transferred to the hospital. At 4 am the
first worker died, his name was Antonio Schiavone. In the following days, from
the 7th to 30th December 2007 died the six others seriously
injured by oil boiling. They were called Joseph Demasi , Angel Laurin , Robert
Scola , Rosario Rodino , March Rocco and Bruno Santino . Among the workers
involved in the accident, there was only one survivor and eyewitness, Antonio
Boccuzzi. He had been working at the Thyssen for 13 years, was part of the
trade union Uilm , his role was central in the complaint of the faults of the
company. The Assize Court of Turin sentenced the CEO of ThyssenKrupp , Harald
Espenhahn to 16 and a half years ' imprisonment, voluntary manslaughter. Six
years after the fire at Thyssenkrupp in Turin the families of the seven workers who died that
night are still waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court on whom they
consider responsible for their own personal hell.
Pescara , a fireworks factory explodes . A terrifying
roar, created by at least 10 tons of gunpowder that killed three people in the
family Di Giacomo , the owner Mauro , 45, and his brother Frederico , 39, plus
another relative Roberto , 50 years. Above half the province of Pescara an
immense and impressive 'atomic' white mushroom rose in the sky. Ambulances,
firefighters, rescue and fire sirens and helicopters headed for Villa Cypress ,
the agricultural area of Città S. Angelo , provincial road 49 towards the
hill on fire. With them Alessio , the 22 year old son Mauro . On the spot he
wanted to reach the area. He was hit by the second explosion . The President of
the Republic Giogio Napolitano sent a message of condolence.
The factory Rindi . One worker died and two of his fellow were in reserved prognosis in the burnt unit of the San Martino Hospital in Genoa . This was the budget of a fire exploded in July 27, 1992 in the factory of industrial adhesives " Rindi " in Signa , near Florence , which dealt also with highly explosive materials . The victim's name was Daniel Falconi, 25 years old.

Workers burnt in Lafumet in
Villastellone . At about two in the afternoon of March 26th 2012 some North African workers going
back to work from their break for
prayer, were overwhelmed by an explosion coming from the warehouses of the
factory where they worked, the ' Lafumet ' in Villastellone , a municipality on
the outskirts of Turin , a company that dealt with the disposal of special waste
and that had 90 employees , mostly foreigners . Soon after there were other loud
and violent explosions. The blaze swept fully five workers from the Maghreb. Readily
transported to the department of CTO Turin, the five North African reported
large burns over most of the bodies, faces, hands and arms. "You run the
risk of burning alive for a thousand Euros per month ," said Mohamed Asadi
, one of the first workers to help his injured colleagues . "Working in
there is very dangerous - sadded Francisco Vazquez - we have been asking for an
extractor fan for months for the department. The company has never answered
."
The factory in San Mauro a Signa. On April 15, 2012, a fire broke out
in the afternoon in a factory of electroplating baths, in San Mauro a Signa.
The fire of Scandicci. On 29 June 2012, a fire partly destroyed a former paint factory in Scandicci (Florence) . The fire broke out around 8 am in the morning. The column of smoke remained visible from several kilometers away .
The factory Afragola . Firefighters worked a whole night to tame the fire broke out August 21, 2012 in a factory Afragola and the eastern outskirts of Naples.

Fire broke out at polymer Apollinaris . On 17 July 2013, a column of
black smoke visible in the sky from miles away developed to a terrible fire
which broke out at 13.30 in a factory to Polymer Ltd. , headquartered in St.
Apollinaris , a fraction of Rovigo. The company was in charge of the recycling
of high and low density polyethylene and linear polyethylene ( film industry
and extrusion ) . With its plant was able to convert plastic wast , in granules
of polyethylene regenerated for reuse as raw material for the production of new
articles and products . The municipal police invited (through speakers placed
on patrol cars)the residents of St.
Apollinaris to turn off the gas and the light and leave their homes within a
mile from the fire. In Rovigo in the meantime, the pool was evacuated on Viale
Porta Po. Inside the plant that caught fire there was the polythene in granules
. The Arpav excluded the danger of dioxin.
