The Waste Revealed in the Province of Vicenza - The Land of Fire begins from here

In the last few days have been published on the Giornale di Vicenza some articles dealing with the existence of sites of dumping of waste in the Province, which occurred in the last century.

Now we know what all the authorities and very few people were aware of and that is that in the fields north of Vicenza are buried large quantities of waste.
43 sites have been detected of which 13 cases are more delicate and are subject to conventions of the municipalities in order to be constantly monitored. Additional reports of old dumps are gradually coming to the offices of the responsible departments.

In the fields of several municipalities around Villaverla (VI) where there was a historic furnace, was dug for hundreds of years to get the clay to make bricks, tiles and more, resulting in huge extensions of depressed land  no longer useful to agriculture, what is better than filling them out with the trash .
Obviously, the liability is not imputable to the current administrators; the fact is that we now have extensions of the Veneto region covering thousands of cubic meters of waste.

A particular problem arises now in the City of Caldogno ( VI) where there will be an overflow in case of flooding , where in 1970-1980 were buried large quantities of waste , then covered with earth.
The reclamation of this overrun with garbage removal, according to the President of the Province, would cost three million euro, too much money, then we will proceed to cover with an insulation with a budgeted cost of 450 thousand euro and a commitment to regular monitoring.

I wonder if, with the necessary distinctions, the inhabitants of Campania, infected by the waste buried in their region (many of whom come from the northern regions, including Veneto ) would accept the same solution.
This practice of burying the waste is obviously not only of here and of  Campania, it would be useful to know the real situation of the whole country  The file of Legambiente " Reduce and recycle , first of all" goes in this direction.

For us, that for years have been saying that the waste should be reduced at source and that what remains can be a resource by recycling; reiterate the urgent need for a policy of " zero waste " . In other countries this practice is already well advanced , with obvious benefits , the paradox is that there are Italian companies working in the Italian market and also exported to Germany packing the same product in two completely different ways .
We should take the road of "Zero Waste " , just so we end up polluting , we puts an end to waste and allow the creation of new and skilled jobs.
