This film shows how the Mafia really is

The docu-drama "La trattativa" celebrates at the Film Festival in Venice an unusual mafia movie premiere. For the Mafia expert Petra Reski suggests the work of Sabina Guzzanti beats largely classics like "The Godfather" . It actually shows the unvarnished linkages between the state and crime in Italy.
The Mafia in Italy is not necessarily an opponent of the state - but often a partner. Together they negotiate the best solution for both sidess - and from there follows the fate of Italy. This is the story told by the director Sabina Guzzanti in her experimental docu-drama "La trattativa” (Italian for the “The Negotiation") using the example of a true event.
For the author and journalist Petra Reski, who has been living in Venice for almost 25 years and has written several books and article about the Mafia, Guzzanti film defeats the popular Mafia Classic by Coppola, Scorsese and Co.: "'The Godfather' is the greatest propaganda film for the Mafia. "And: "Whoever shows much violence in movies, also shows how powerful the Mafia is." This may please this crime organization. Guzzanti film on the other hand show the connection "between politics and mafia, economy and mafia and also journalists and Mafia. And since that is no fun for mafiosi."
Petra Reski, who has just published a novel about an Italian prosecutor investigating the Mafia, says that she is more than tired of this quasi-glorification "of violence and loving fathers - this whole damned psychology of Mafiosi.
